East End / Manhattan artist Linda Stein combines printmaking and feminism with her latest series, abundantly present in her spacious Tribeca studio. Portraits of such women as Margaret Sanger, Bella Abzug and Flo Kennedy are celebrated with watercolors and digital input. The results are quite striking, each female depicted in various headshots, evoking diverse emotions and demeanors. It's Ms. Stein's way of bestowing dimensionality on her subjects, a way of avoiding stereotypes.
